Career Counseling

Beth Ann Wilson, M.Ed., CMF

Beth specializes in career management, job search, career direction and workplace dynamics, advising people of all ages from diverse fields and backgrounds.

Career counseling is a guided discussion addressing your individual work and life issues.  You may want to evaluate your future in your chosen profession.  You may want to change your career completely.  Or you may want to discuss starting your own business, launching an encore/ retirement career, obtaining education or seeking purposeful volunteering.

Individuals who have already identified their next career move may seek advice on writing resumes, conducting interviews and charting job search strategies.  Learning how to benefit from networking, the Internet and social media is essential to today’s job seeker.

Even those satisfied in their jobs may need objective feedback on how to handle workplace situations.  Coaching on how to maximize success, prepare for a performance review, negotiate salary, or address workplace politics can be very effective.

With over twenty years of experience counseling individuals about career and life decisions, Beth started an independent practice twelve years ago. She worked for OPTIONS Career and Human Resource Consulting and conducted career transition workshops for Right Management as an adjunct. Prior employment includes counseling in vocational rehabilitation, managing classroom training for a federal employment program and coordinating projects in college career centers and vocational research.  She earned a M.Ed. in Counseling from the Pennsylvania State University and a B.A. in Psychology from Dickinson College.

Beth earned recognition as a Career Management Fellow from the Institute of Career Certification International in 2004, joining only 160 Fellows worldwide who have the required experience and competencies to achieve this designation.  As a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute and as a current board member and past co-president of the Association of Career Professionals International, Greater Philadelphia Network, she has a strong local and global network of professional colleagues.
